There’s lots of really cool people working here at Sage Institute of Child Care, and if you’re lucky you might know some of them. Enter Corinne Hui, Career Agent, who supports students and liaises with Child Care businesses in our Career Partner Network. We caught up with Corinne recently and asked her some deep and meaningful questions about her life, likes and working at Sage…
1. Here’s the icebreaker! What are Five Fun Facts we should know about you?
Fact 1: I am a qualified yoga teacher and will be qualified in personal training too eventually.
Fact 2: I love to cook and create new dishes (and I am writing my first cookbook called “Cooking Colour”).
Fact 3: I am newly turned pescetarian (a vegetarian who also eats fish).
Fact 4: I love to travel, and have already visited 13 overseas cities. My destinations next year will include Greece, Miami, Cambodia and Japan.
Fact 5: I’ve never seen snow in my life!
2. How long have you been working with Sage?
Since March 2015.
3. What is your “pre-Sage” background?
I studied my Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) and worked as an educator before moving into a Director’s role managing long day care centres. I have been in the early childhood education industry for the last 13 years.
4. What do you like most about your role?
I like networking, meeting new people and assisting to find solutions to better their businesses. I also enjoy assisting students and being a part of their journey from start to finish while they are studying at Sage.
5. What do you do in a week at Sage?
Admin! There never seems to be a shortage of that. I am also on the road a lot, meeting new industry partners who qualify for partnership with Sage as well as visiting current partners. I also visit new classes.
6. Who is in your team?
I work with the marketing and advertising team as well as a team of agents who look after other brands.
7. What do you think are the best parts of working with children?
Watching them grow; being a part of their learning and their excitement when new discoveries are made. Children are so full of positive, happy energy and I always had the most fun when I was an educator working directly with children.
8. Looking backwards, what ONE piece of advice would you give to your 18 year old self?
Put away 10% of my fortnightly pay – I would have been halfway to being a millionaire by now!
9. Tell us about an experience you have had with a Sage student that really had an impact on you…
There were two students who struggled to find placements in their area, and I was able to assist them both with a placement with one of my industry partners. Now one of them will be offered a role when they finish their studies with Sage.
I really am happy when I hear of students being employed after their placement and then securing full time work when they graduate.
10. Tell us what your top 3 Instagram accounts are and why…
Laura Sykora – I love her journey and growth in yoga and now with her move to acro yoga she is amazing!
Sophia Miacova – She’s a vegetarian and amazingly fit! I follow her for inspiration and to keep on track with my own journey.

Sage Institute of Child Care – it’s more than a job, it’s a rewarding career.
